H2L2's conceptual design for the new bridge across the Maumee River in Toledo, Ohio is a single-mast, cable stay structure. Because of the City's thriving glass industry, the compression tower design incorporates glass in a dramatic manner.
The design for the bridge is particularly impressive by night, with its lengths of fiber-optic horizontal tubes lighting the pedestrian areas. The tower itself is architecturally lit to emphasize its shimmering glass insets.
